22/09/2011 - Pickerings Plant Go Eco
Pickerings Plant have confirmed the purchase of a fleet of EasyCabin eco12 welfare cabins from the leading cabin manufacturer, AJC Trailers. The EasyCabin eco12 has canteen facilities for up to five persons and an Eberspacher diesel heater for providing hot water to sinks and air heating.The kettle and microwave oven are powered by a generator with an automatic start on demand system, helping to keep generator use to a minimum. It is fitted with a useful12 volt socket for phone charging.
The EasyCabin eco12 has a number of energy saving features: Based on a 50hour week and compared to a 6kVA generator with red diesel at 90p/litre, these savings are achieved;
Diesel Saving 4,225ltrs / £3,802 ~ Maintenance saving £1,550 ~ CO2 emission saving 11,409kgs ~ Engine hours saved 2,275 ~ Uses just 18ltrs diesel / week ~ Low noise pollution ~ Enhanced sustainability with just 12 working days on 1 tank of diesel. 27/06/2011 - New Mobile Welfare Units from Pickerings Plant
The Health and Safety at Work Act for Welfare instructs contractors to provide statuary welfare facilities on transient sites were three or
more people are working. The facilities encompass a rest and eating area, sanitary conveniences, drinking water, together with the storage and changing of clothes. The Act requires all outside contractors to comply with the regulations, failure could result in the closure of the site.
These mobile welfare unit will ensure that all contractors are compliant with HSWW regulations 20 to 25, they have all the facilities of a static unit yet they can be towed by a Transit type van. This means that the contractor will be relieved of the hassle and expense of arranging transport and off-loading.
These new mobile welfare units are fitted out with a microwave oven, kettle, wall mounted heater, and warm water washing facilities. There is a self-contained toilet area with recirculating toilet and separate drying room
